BRUNEI LAUNCHES VISIT BRUNEI YEAR 2027 AT TRAVEL MEET ASIA 2026
Bandar Seri Begawan, 24 June 2026
Brunei Darussalam, through the Tourism Development Department under the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, participated as the Official Partner Country at Travel Meet Asia 2026 in Bandar Seri Begawan on 24 June 2026. This participation marked an important step in strengthening the country’s regional tourism engagement and coincided with the official introduction of the Visit Brunei Year 2027 campaign, which aims to enhance Brunei’s visibility as a travel destination in both regional and global markets.
At the event, Brunei showcased its diverse tourism offerings to international buyers, sellers, and industry leaders across Asia. The pavilion highlighted key attractions such as cultural heritage, community-based tourism, and nature-driven experiences, positioning Brunei as a safe, peaceful, and authentic destination with strong cultural identity and pristine natural environments. The platform also helped increase destination awareness and support the promotion of the upcoming Visit Brunei Year 2027 initiative.
A key part of the engagement included more than 30 B2B matchmaking sessions with Indonesian travel agencies, tourism associations, media, and other industry stakeholders. These discussions focused on strengthening partnerships, improving connectivity, and exploring opportunities in niche tourism segments such as eco-tourism, Islamic heritage tourism, education tourism, and community-based travel experiences.
Overall, Brunei’s participation demonstrated its continued commitment to expanding its international tourism reach and diversifying its tourism sector. With growing visitor numbers from Indonesia and strong momentum leading into Visit Brunei Year 2027, Brunei is well-positioned to further strengthen its presence in the regional tourism market.
